Good question. I guess to me it is a reminder that purposeful sin hinders our relationship with God. None can stop sinning so these verses cannot be speaking of our sin nature in general but a purposeful willing and ongoing disobedience. This heart attitude in some way hinders our prayers with God. Repentance would change the situation I suspect. What do you think?
